  The Chief Justice

 
 

      The chief justice in the first responsible person for the administration of justice in the Sudan judicially and administratively. he is both the president of the supreme court and the supreme council of the judiciary. He exercises his powers according to the judiciary Act of 1986 , the Civil procedure Act of 1983 , the code of criminal procedure Act 1991 and also according to what is delegated to him by the supreme council of the judiciary in so far as the transfer , dentition and secondment of judges . he also has miscellaneous power in the different regulations of the judiciary . moreover he convenes the circuits of the supreme court , refers cases to them , forms the specialized courts appoints their judges and issues warrants of the establishment of town and rural courts . his judicial powers , are exercised side by side with his administrative and financial powers, and in all that he is assisted by his 

Deputies, the General secretariat of supreme council of the judiciary and the specialized administrations which bodies will be dealt with in their appropinate  settings in this account .

Directly attached to the chief justice is the executive office the computer unit and the and the public relation and information administration.
